Shells Seafood Restaurant - A Taste of Freshness and Excellence in Tampa, FL

We stopped in while on a visit to Tampa, and had a great experience- the restaurant felt almost like a hole-in-the-wall and wasn't super crowded which was nice. I usually roll my eyes at the "happy hour all day everyday" type deals, but these really were the BEST prices we saw the whole time we were in Tampa! We ordered a bunch of apps to just try some of everything and were not disappointed in any of it! Our server, Josue, was awesome! Thanks for a great visit!

FIrst time visitors, recommend the following: Clam Chowder: their beloved family recipe since 1985, packed with clams, bacon, and spices. Over one million gallons of this chowder have been served in the 40 year history of Shells! Crab Cake Appetizer: two premium sauteed jumbo lump crab cakes, packed with crab meat! Shrimp Pasta: this is the dish that made Shells famous! Inspired by a serendipitous sailboat adventure, the signature shrimp pasta features succulent shrimp, perfectly cooked pasta, and a creamy blend of garlic, herbs and spices. This iconic dish has been winning hearts for over 40 years with its rich flavors and unforgettable taste. It's such a chill environment and the best part is that the price point for the food is super reasonable and affordable! Service is also friendly and top notch!

do not let the outside fool you, for what the inside has to offer! I got the mussels appetizer, I wanted to lick the bowl. It was the best tomato sauce I have ever tasted, and I don’t even like tomatoes. they had a great white sangria!! Very very tasty!! I got the seafood pasta and it was delicious and I am taking some home as well!! we also had the captains combo, Which was a very large portion! Excellent coleslaw! The waiter was super nice and patient and answered all of our questions! Recommendations were all good!! Would absolutely recommended!!! Best meal we’ve had the whole week!

Food, service, atmosphere... everything was amazing!! If you're looking for delicious, reasonably priced seafood with 5 star quality, you definitely have to give this place a visit! This will for sure be a 'go-to' spot for me

Good food. Service was on point. We've been to Shells all over Tampa when we visit. This was our first time going to this one. We had buffalo shrimp, calamari, jambalaya and the happy hour margaritas. The margaritas need more liquor. overall we had a good time and the atmosphere was good as well. Great staff.

I love this place!! I’ve been multiple times and they’re very consistent! I truly consider this spot like a hidden gem because their seafood is great, as well as their prices, and its a super family-friendly location. It’s a relaxed-fit restaurant, typically chilly inside, and the service is always friendly. I truly love their oysters, that’s what I always go for, but I’ve really never had a bad meal!
